Mines Rescue Captain
This position is responsible in an operational capacity for responding as part of a Mines Rescue Team, to deliver an effect and efficient Mines Rescue Service. This position will be part of a 24/7 ‘On Call’ duty system to fully meet and surpass the requirements stipulated in the Mines Regulations 2014. This person will:
- Monitor and respond to emergency calls or initial incident reports, mobilise assistance as required and lead a Mines Rescue Team to the incident scene
- Verify incident information, mobilise and escalate as necessary to the Rescue Officer
- Take immediate steps to assess the nature, extent and severity of the situation
- Identify the risks presented to the attending personnel
- Implement arrangements to account for all people on-site and identify missing persons
- Introduce immediate control measures to prevent the situation escalating (if safe to do so) and to protect Mines Rescue Team
- Confirm all persons are accounted for; or their last known location and condition
- Liaise with persons identified within the command structure at the scene as appropriate to collate information as part of the decision-making process and determine priorities and formulate a robust plan of action to save life and stabilise the incident
- Direct and coordinate the briefing, tasking and deployment of teams to carry out lifesaving and mitigating actions
- Collate information as personnel withdraw from the scene of operations to inform and update the plan of action
- Utilise mine plans, ventilation plans, layout drawings for briefing and debriefing teams
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safe systems of work – adjust plans accordingly, continually assessing the risk
- Manage shift personnel and deal with any day to day issues with the assistance of the corporate support team
- Co-ordinate, deliver and record shift refresher training
- Attend and actively engage in site meetings as required
- Ensure daily dialogue and site tours are maintained to keep up to date with the project
- Ensure regular dialogue with neighbouring site Mines Rescue Captain’s to maintain a project wide view
- Maintain a strict level of health and fitness appropriate to the role

Mines Rescue Technician
This position is responsible in an operational capacity for responding as part of a Mines Rescue Team, to deliver an effect and efficient Mines Rescue Service. This position will be part of a 24/7 ‘On Call’ duty system to fully meet and surpass the requirements stipulated in the Mines Regulations 2014. This person will:
- Upon hearing the emergency alarm, report to the Mines Rescue Captain for instructions
- Secure the scene of the emergency and assist with the evacuation of personnel
- Assist the Mines Rescue Captain to stabilise and make the immediate area safe
- Treat any injured persons
- Provision of pre-hospital trauma medical support to maintain the health of people in the event of an incident/accident and protect against further injury and/or loss.
- Extinguish or keep fires under control
- Attend emergency response training, exercises and drills
- Mobilise the required Mines Rescue equipment (rescue equipment, stabilisation and structural collapse equipment, firefighting equipment etc)
- Assist with securing the scene and preserving evidence if time allows
- Assist with ensuring the site is safe before standing down
- Attend de-briefing sessions with the Mines Rescue Captain
- Assist the Mines Rescue Captain with the daily delivery of the service
- Actively promote safe work practices around site and report any findings to Mines Rescue Captain
- Engage in daily dialogue and site tours to maintain an up to date understanding of the project
- Maintain a strict level of health and fitness appropriate to the role

Enhanced Security Officer
This position is responsible in an operational capacity for the provision of enhanced security services. In addition, responding as part of a Mines Rescue Team, to deliver an effect and efficient Mines Rescue Service. This position will be part of a 24/7 ‘On Call’ duty system to fully meet and surpass the requirements stipulated in the Mines Regulations 2014. This person will:
Role Responsibility:
- Provide a highly professional enhanced security service, engaging proactively with clients
- Upon hearing the emergency alarm, report to the Mines Rescue Captain for instructions
- Secure the scene of the emergency and assist with the evacuation of personnel
- Assist the Mines Rescue Captain to stabilise and make the immediate area safe
- Treat any injured persons
- Provision of pre-hospital trauma medical support to maintain the health of people in the event of an incident/accident and protect against further injury and/or loss.

- Provide conflict resolution at client premises where there is potential for conflict
- Greeting, assisting and directing members of the public, contractors and staff visiting the premises of our client

The Ideal Candidate:
- Prior experience of working as a Security Officer in the Security Industry
- A valid SIA Licence or current certificate of completion of SIA training
